How many sessions will I need?

Each person is different so it is not a ‘one size fits all’. The number of sessions and the length of time all depends on where you are in your life’s journey and what difficulties you want to work on.

You can attend as few or as many as you would like, and we can discuss this during the initial free assessment.

What should I expect in the initial assessment?

The initial assessment lasts between 20-25 minutes and I will invite you to talk a little about what brings you to therapy and what you think you would like to get out of it.

You can also ask me any questions you may have about counselling or coaching and my overall approach. I will do the same and ask you a few questions about yourself and take down your details.

Do I need counselling or coaching?

With counselling, the focus is on gaining insights, discussing your experiences, exploring difficulties and healing. The work is more open-ended and long term and I do also look at goal planning.

Whereas with coaching we focus more on achieving specific goals you may already have which may be career-related or even making a decision about something. This work tends to be short-term and very focused, over a course of three-four sessions. We can discuss this during our initial free assessment and agree on what would suit your needs best.
